Alison Krauss

Alison Krauss, a bluegrass fiddler from Tennessee who was 19, was a major international star in 1990 when she getting the Grammy Award as the Best Bluegrass Album. Her third album, I've Got That Old Feeling received the accolade even though she was barely 19 years of age. Her first effort, Too Late to Cry, was released when the Champaign, Illinois, native was only 16; she signed a contract with Rounder Records, one of the most prestigious folk label in the business--at the age of fourteen. Krauss is known for her incredible virtuosity and accomplishments, even at such a young age. She is a fervent supporter of bluegrass music, one of the oldest and most under-appreciated styles of the American culture, is a constant.
